Feeding More Together unites Publix and its customers to help alleviate hunger.
Publix provides $5 million to purchase and deliver produce to Feeding America® partner food banks.
Sept. 19, 2023 — Feeding More Together is just one of the many ways that Publix, as a food retailer, is committed to helping alleviate hunger. With 1 in 10 people in America facing food insecurity, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, we’ve continued to look for ways to help. In 2021, we launched Feeding More Together to unite customers and associates in our hunger alleviation efforts. This campaign runs twice a year and helps provide food to people facing hunger in two ways: shelf-stable food items and fresh produce purchased from Southeastern farmers.
Customer donations at the register are given to local food banks as credit. The local food banks and pantries can then use these credits to select nonperishable items they need to serve the people in their communities. In conjunction, Publix provides $5 million to purchase and deliver produce to Feeding America partner food banks.
Since March 2021, Feeding More Together has provided more than 77 million pounds of food to local food banks, pantries and Feeding America partner food banks.
“With hunger impacting every area we serve, Publix is committed to helping alleviate hunger for our neighbors in need,” said Publix’s Director of Community Relations Dwaine Stevens. “Feeding More Together is a unique opportunity to bring together the generosity of our customers and our associates. We’re proud to do good together to help provide nourishing food for people facing food insecurity.”
Our second Feeding More Together register campaign of 2023 will run Nov. 8 – 19. To learn more about this hunger alleviation effort, please visit publix.com/FeedingMoreTogether.
